...Day of the west chinese moguls...

Yes let the cancelling begin, and let's start with the man who practically re-invented the word (he did the same for crack and stealing mouth organs) Mr. Dorethy. Yeah babyshambles out!

The Robocop Krauss
And again new wave meets brit pop, but now german style. Really it wasn't their fault but after already seeing bands like franz ferdinand, kaisers chiefs, art brut and etc. your not really filled with joy to see another set of the same ingredients. They have one minor hit which is also remixed by Evemasscre with the cardigans "lovefool" and let's say the mix was more interesting than the live version.

Nine Black Alps
NME approved grunge and being not biggest grunge fan in the world I wasn't really to hyper to see this band. Their hits are still very unfamiliar with most of the crowd, but they get something going when they start "shot down" and when they try not to look like that blond dude from a certain band from a certain Seattle. Anyhow these boys have potential, but the question is why aren't they using it full force? Who will tell, or is not putting up everything you got still "grunge"?

Goldie Looking Chain
The mathafucka's straight from the "very" hot Wales. Let's face Wales isn't really known for it devine musical taste, owk they have Manics but Stereophonics anyone? Ah but thank weird raps with the words "robot", "pussy", "plug me in", "man" make it up for all the Mr Writers in the world. Like the darkness many people see them as a joke band, but if your still rolling and putting up a nice show, which not many rappers are able to do remember 50cent (!), you surely mean something. Sure, you won't see talk about Chomsky or likewise. But these boys just want to have fun, and well even good old cynic me couldn't stand a sudden smile. Here an extract of their skills: "If you leave me now/ can I please fuck your sister and your best friend too!"

Fischerspooner
Now I know that the futureheads are playing in the marquee but it is a fifty-fifty treat I'm making. Like his last pukkelpop performance you could expect everything sexual, but this time he stayed nice and he didn't go any farther than any normal Siccor Sisters act so that is really intimate for their normal doing.
Since NY Oddysee they are on a winning stream and they really keep on continuing, their new hits take you in a wonderfull adventure through the sleazy NY nightlife and their old hits like "Emerge" are anthems for not only the club-generation.

The futureheads
Arriving fashionably late and now again ready to listing to a band who stole half their back-catalogue of Gang of Four and PiL, but we love them for their sublimal cover of Kate Bush's "Hounds of Love". Now really coming from a set were you had a band who tried to keep a genre (techno) a live, the futureheads have the easier task to go with flow of bands like Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand, hell they've been around since longer.
Their big break through was their track "robots" on the rough trade compilation of the best "post-punk" artists. So that was already released in 2003, but so were the Roger Sisters and they still haven't broke lose. Though towards end everybody seemed entertained, but let's face it, the futureheads are nothing more than an indie-scensters version of Green Day and yeah don't we all have one record of Green Day. So if they grow old may be they could have their American Idiot.

The Arcade Fire
The Arcade Fire already made a stunning apperance in the Circus Royal earlier this year and their album "funeral" is without any hesitation some of the most interesting things to come out of Canada since the unicorns "How will cut our hair when we are gone" came out.
The Arcade Fire look onstage like the most well timed chaos their could possibly be. Having drummers playing motorcycles helmets who are on the head of their fellow guitarist and accordeons popping up once in a while are just two examples of their slighty unusual preformance.
During the hour and a half they played they convinced new fans and amazed the fans who were already since the futureheads. The only thing I could possibly imagine complaining about was the breakdown during "Power(out)", though even many fans didn't notice it, but they forgot a verse and yes one verse more means more Arcade Fire and that is just something you want everyday, but only get it when your really nice and get lost in the violin-arrangements.
Yes the others were playing at the club that time, but even if they paid me and Dominic would be duetting with Pete "Crack" Dorethy I still would be going to the Arcade fire.

Pixies
Well I did half a set I was still in the flow of Arcade Fire and no "Here comes your man" could get me out of it. Plus the fact I got food poisened by a taco made me go back to tent.
So no Rating and no Maximo Park damn.
