THE REVIEW:

Innocent - Herdersem/Parochiezaal - 23/10/2003
Yes, like all famous bands you have to start somewhere and "Innocent" that the best way to start their carreer is in the Parochiezaal in Herdersem.
Anyway it was crowed and the "in-crowd" of Herdersem and Gijzegem and even further got there.
So that was a good start as was their very nice and spacey intro. Yes the expectations began to rise. The PA was a bit sloppy at first, bass line had to be a wee bit up, but that isn't something the band could prevent. Anyway they played a few of their own material which was very interesting and Randy Warhol would adivise them to stay in that direction, because they sound the most sincere and most powerful. So they were something original something you don't really have with modern pop music. (and by saying pop music Mr. Warhol widens it up to "rock" music aswell)
Anyway they shouldn't touch the garage rock stuff too much. 7 Nation Army owk that was reasonable but no C'mon C'mon anymore, I know they were just showing they had good taste and wide spectrum of influences but by Jove really it isn't their thing, it doesn't sound like real at all. As an ex-muse fan they really showed me why I used to love them and well may be still do. And if they want to show they got fantastic taste they just should play Debaser! Chien Andalousia..............
There were several guest appereances during the show one of Sarah with a very clean version of RHCP's "Californication" and of Leafflowergirl during 3 songs. And one of them was street spirit which is hard to cover because it has been covered so much (n'est pas Micheal?), but it was fine.
Well during the encores the charming Dorien something asked the audience if anyone ever wonderd who AC/DC would sound like if they had a female singer. I shouted no but anyway I had a blast with their version of "HighWay to Hell." It wasn't always very tight, but it was fun and people enjoyed it and for a beginning band, that is all that you could ask.
So thank you Train Girl for a wonderful experience.

Highlight:
Pixies - Debaser
On a scare from 1 to ten where 1 is equal to the moustache of the bass player of the darkness and 10 is the moustache of the bass player of the hives
I would give it a 8,5 just because deserve every point of it. But still could do better. (so that would be the moustache of which bass player?)

Haaaahahaaa! Konijnsel!
HOOOHOHO.
Nouja, laten we ter zake blijven. DAMN IT, IT'S ME!
VERLOREN WE ONSZELF WEER ZEKER!
